XIBALBA - A JOURNEY THRU DARKNESS AND LIGHT

It is extraordinary how the ancient Mayans were able to know different kinds of time, not just linear time that we are familiar with that flies like an arrow. They knew circular time, cycles of time that go back to 16.4 billion years ago.  I would like to invite you to join Alberto Villoldo in a  Conference  Call that lead us to the end date of the “Mayan Calendar.”  This is the calendar of the birthing pangs of the new beginning of another Mayan Calendar, which is a resetting of time itself.

We are coming into a period of the prophesies of the Americas the Mayas have described as a time of great upheaval, tremendous upheaval, and the great need for agents of change, for agents of transformation, for men and women who are willing to step up and make a difference.  That time is now.

 And this great upheaval is happening where we are in, 2014… This is actually a repost of a posting on Xibalba, a Journey, in my website, Forest of Stars, Jan.31, 2009, a follow-up on the accuracy of the prophesies of the Americas, led by the Mayas on Xibalba, our Journey.  It has been my advocacy over the years to speak on the Mayan Calendar and all that it means in regard to our calling as humans to evolve to higher consciousness or that of humanity’s  ascending destiny from Darkness into Light.

 In my view the God in Motion is extraordinarily represented by the Mayan Calendar’s circular timing of the World Ages in tandem with the Precession of the Equinox of western astrology that I have tried to explicate in previous postings in my web column, and in talks given to certain study groups that shared my vision and enthusiasm.

Alberto Villoldo, a medical anthropologist who is speaking here, left the world of the academe for the South American rain forest, and apprenticed to Incan and Mayan shamans from that day on.  At that time of his initiation, Alberto was instructed to bring their wisdom and their prophesies out in the world.  In Jan 2009, I was not yet ready to tell what and how Alberto’s Xibalba’s message to the world would impact upon us, as soon as the end of Mayan Calendar came about in 2012.  So I have to repost my article on Villoldo’s Xibalba of Jan., 2009, to expand it based on the stream of international news reports coming out at this time, 2014 going 2015.  

We were asked then to cast away fear for what we fear can control us.  Easier said than done, that’s all what I could say to such a warning then.  Today I have to learn how the Mayan prophesies  have actually entered  our time to initiate us into beingness to merit ascension, so that we are currently into a time full of opportunity, ready or not. 

We speak now of a time of Initiation into beingness, into a New Human, a great choice, and about the people who do not make the right choice, about the people who refuse to choose,  people who will go through tremendous suffering through climate change of tremendous storms as we Filipinos understood what it meant finally with the supertyphoon Yolanda’s devastating aftermath, learning who did care and who shared, and who failed.  Why we are in this time of terrible darkness, emphatizing with the thousands, or a million refugees fleeing from their countries in a state of chaos and turmoil in ME such as Syria, Israel, dragging on for three years now, then the terrifying jihadist Isis in the Iraq-Syria border setting up a caliphate.  Gaza, beleaguered by the seemingly unceasing Israeli- Hamas air missle- combat, who have also dugged tunnels under the ground towards their houses to horrify the Israelis upon discovery that everything is happening at the same time to them, overhead and below, telling the world that this too will happen to you if the UN and you insist that Israel is killing children while the terrorist Hamas are using them as human shields .

Alberto Villoldo, the medical anthropologist turned shaman for 25 years living in the Andes now asks us to take with optimism the Apache Eldrs and prophesy keepers were feeling during this tremendous time of gloom.  They speak about a great time of opportunity of renewal, a time of quantum leaping of miraculously transcending  (read the amazing conversion from Islam to Christianity by a muslim cleric,  a 35 minute video  in my timeline) a time of darkness called Xibalba, which is a journey through the criminal underworld that we humanity as a whole has been traversing over the centuries.   

In symbolic language, Xibalba was associated with a dark place in heaven, a place where there is no light, it was called the Place of Fear, the place of Death, and is ruled by the lords of death (check this in your read of current news on cable TV of horrifying persecutions done by terrorist jihadists in ME). About the mesoamerican prophesies by the Maya, Aztecs, Hopis and Incans called Xibalba, here's the landscape of the world as we know it: 

It was an extraordinary city, an extraordinary place, there were temples, there were palaces, surrounded by vast, landscape gardens and splendid golf courses and sparkling beach resorts with alluring spas in an ultra modern world of condos, hotel residences and high rise buildings here and abroad...    

There were six temples for example: You were to pass through and you were tested.  There was the House of Darkness, the House of Cold, the House of Heat, the House of Angry Jaguars, House of Razors, and the House of Bats.  Each of these Houses had to be visited, you hd to pass through and meet the challenges of these houses successfully and not to be reduced and consumed and destroyed by them. 

 Through the House of Darkness, a time of the Dark Ages historically we lived in for centuries, and that we are living through at this modern time as well.

Now remember that the Mayans (as well as the Hopis, Incans and Aztecs) understood that time was linear, but that there was another time that looped back into itself and did the figure 8, depicted in astrological time as the Precession of the Equinox when the Signs turned us to Aquarius (now) looping back behind Pisces, instead of going straight to Aries, in  a counterclockwise movement which follows a logic known to the stars, but not to logically minded men who call themselves free thinkers or nearly atheists. 

 We learn also at this time that some things cannot be bought by money, such as manners, morals and integrity. The House of the Angry Jaguars  represent greed, the seduction of greed or lust for more fun partners, ignoring marriage, as in the rush to enjoy every moment, to live hedonistically, and to steal government funds, and not account for them unless you are on the other side of the political fence, to build high rise buildings or towers for real estate investments and living, that may be if only we can do the right deal or sell the next project, which is wonderful, terrific, but when we are caught in the grip of greed that is so infectious in our time, we succumb to one of the lords of death.

The House of  Heat, the world is heating up, we are facing globally.  But personally, the House of heat has to do with purification.  Could we stand the heat in our own country for instance?  Were we able to purify, to detox, to eliminate the poisons that live within us? The House of Cold was the house where communication between people broke down, where people spoke to each other but did not understand each other.  This is the dilemma we face in our world today and we see it sometimes with our partners, or spouses and children as though we are speaking different languages, and we grow cold internally.  We had to be victorious in each one of these challenges and not lot lose sight of what we came to do .

So Xibalba in a symbolic sense, is a place of great learning, though it is identified with the Underworld, and with the Collective unconscious.  Everybody has to go through these tests. The journey through Xibalba requires that we cross several  rivers, whether to get in or out of this realm of death. This is the realm we are living in today.  We are living in a world of death, and suffering. The river we have to cross is the river of scorpions. Scorpio is the sign of death and rebirth in our birthcharts. Then there is the river of blood which represents wars, all of the violence we are experiencing in the world. Then there is the river of pus, which represents illness, disease and plagues like the deadly ebola in Africa, and elsewhere.  And when we look back we remember how we were tested and failed, seduced by everything that stroke on ego, and what we had to learn through the most difficult way, then deciding of course never to learn that way again, until it happens the next time.

In the Populi Vol, the bible of the Mayans it is said that we are successful in our journey if we come to the House of the Lords of Xibalba, to a great hall, and we come to look at the Lords themselves, which were described in the Mayan prophesies as demons, but that existed as demons only because fear lived within us.  Surrounding them were other Lords, but some of them would be manniquins, dolls, and if you confuse one of those for the real Lords, then you had to pay, you were purified for being seduced and confused.  For whatever it is that we feared most that’s how they would appear to us.

So the story of Xibalba is the story of the ancient rulers of humanity, the ancient rulers of the world. Not of the Earth, because the Earth is our planet as differentiated from the world which is a human construct that has streets and roads and the Internet and walls and telephones, ipods, tablets, fast food, and the belief systems and commercials and advertising.  It is the world dominated for this extraordinarily long time by the Lords of Xibalba, and he extols the shamans who strove to break free of their domination. But the Lords of Death no longer require human sacrifice.  We could pay homage to the Lords of Life and Light so that we could break free from the call to death itself, and move on to meet the radiant Lords of Life and Light at last
